Born in 1943 in the village of Verkhveli, Marta married into nearby Jijeti where she gave birth to two sons.
A proud Pshav woman and a zealous lover of poetry and song, she put words to melody instantly when a panduri1 was placed in her hands.
Marta always had a sparkle in her eye. Hardworking, practical, generous and energetic, she was a remarkable mother, grandmother and hostess. She passed away in April of 2015.
